THE Doraemon Exhibition Singapore 2022, or TDES 2022 for short, closed its doors for the final time on 5 February 2023 evening after running for a period of three months. The Singapore edition was the first to be held outside of Japan and features additional artworks by two local artists Jahan Loh and Leslie Kee. The exhibition in Singapore was a combination of THE Doraemon Exhibition and Original MANGA Doraemon exhibition, visitors were able to visit both exhibitions with one single ticket.
On the final day of TDES 2022, visitors from around the world streamed into the museum despite the wet weather to visit the exhibition for the final time. We spotted quite a number of visitors from countries like Korea, Japan and Taiwan during our visit. A long queue was observed at the Doraemon themed café, which sells specially designed Dorayakis made by Japanese Confectionery Toraya (とらや) as many were stuck at the museum due to the rain.
The exhibition has now officially closed its doors to the public, but there is still a chance for fans to get their hands on some limited merchandise at the exhibition’s merchandise store, which extended its operating period till 26 February 2023 due to high demand. Fans are advised to make their visits to the store as soon as possible as stocks are limited for the remaining merchandise.
